Welcome Aboard!! Shipknot earned it's name due to several nautical items in the home. The living room's windows that provide a panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico and a sugar white sand beach were once a part of a ship's bridge! All of the bed's in the home were once in the sleeping quarters of a ship. The massive storage piece in the living room once held a Captain's belongings. The owner's of this property have provided quality furnishings throughout which compliment the home's theme.

The wrap-around covered porch adjoins a open deck with a private boardwalk to the beach! The porch and deck are furnished with 2 swings, a hammock, dining and lounging furniture. No need to haul food and drink to the beach, because the beach is just a few steps from the home. Bring your steaks and seafood for grilling on the gas grill. Propane is provided by the owner. Enjoy the shade under the home for parking and entertaining as a picnic table and outdoor fridge make this area the perfect place to hang out!

The home is fully stocked with all the cooking items required for most meals and has plenty of storage space for your food and disposable items. The kitchen has a Keurig and a standard coffee maker. Plus, you won't have to over pack since there is a full size washer and dryer and is perfect for laundering your beach towels. Bath linen is provided, but not beach towels. All beds are made with fresh white linen even the bed coverings, providing a clean bed for each guest. There are three bedrooms, two are furnished with King beds, have a direct Gulf view and each privately adjoins a full bathroom. The third bedroom is located right beside a full bathroom and is furnished with 2 set of bunk beds and sleeps 4. A small amount of toiletries, paper goods and detergents are provided, but only enough to get you through the first day, allowing you to shop the next day if needed.

Please zoom into the map locator marker to see that the home is closer to the water than most other homes on the Fort Morgan peninsula which is outside the Gulf Shores city limits. Umbrellas and beach chairs are allowed and may be brought. Guests are responsible for removing their gear from the beach every evening. Sometimes there are usable items left behind at the home, but if not there is a Dollar General 6 miles away.

The Beach Club Resort is located next door and is within walking distance or a short drive, offering a fine casual dining restaurant, a sports bar and grill and food trucks with live entertainment seasonally. There are other great dining options within a few miles or you may choose to drive to all the Gulf Shores restaurants and attractions which are just 15 minutes away. Don't miss the opportunity to visit historic Fort Morgan, ride the Mobile Bay Ferry, for take a boat ride or fish out of the marina at the end of Fort Morgan Road.

As a guest in Cabana Beach Subdivision, you may visit their pier which is located on the Mobile Bay across Fort Morgan Road, plus, hiking trails are close by! Bring sunscreen, insect repellant and beach towels and beach gear.

The owner does not supply beach gear, but sometimes items are left at the home. Please do not leave items on the beach. Items must be removed from the beach every night. You may contact beach rental companies which are easily found online.

Our family has vacationed here every summer for the last three years. We love it and you will too! You can’t beat being right on your private beach, especially with kids. The covered wrap-around porch is huge…the perfect place for watching the sunrises and the sunsets!

If you are looking for a place ON the beach, look no further, Shipknot is the place for you and your family. It is literally steps from the sand and the beach. If you are not wanting to venture out the few steps to the beach, you can hang out on the deck which is the full length of the house. There are swings located on each end along with rocking chairs. It is a perfect spot for early morning coffee or late in the afternoon cocktail, wine or water. Y’all, the views are incredible so make sure you have your camera close by. Location, location, location…..you are a short walk to the Beach Club where there are food trucks and shopping available. Just a short ride down the road, you can be at Sassy Bass, which is fabulous, make sure to get the crab claws. Right next door to Sassy Bass is a convenience store with milk, bread, wine, you know all of the essentials needed for a memorable beach trip. I could go on and on about SHIPKNOT, as it is truly a one of kind. If there are reservations available, I would act quickly as this place is gorgeous and will book up fast. This beautiful house with expansive front porch on a private beach was the perfect setting for many wonderful memories with my family and friends. Early mornings—drinking coffee watching the beauty of God’s creation from a swing on the front porch is a glimpse of heaven to me. My favorite place! See you next year!
